John was my colleague at the University of Canterbury, and a mountain biking buddy. His general enthusiasm, and ability to engage positively with everyone he encountered, made him a pleasure to be around. He is remembered most fondly.

Dear Marianne

I remember John as the person to yarn to about his latest adventure on the bike. So sorry for your loss. He was such a nice man. We will all miss his stories and his smiling face at the YMCA gym.

Marianne and family, I was both shocked and saddened to read of the passing of John. I knew John in Blenheim when he was office boy at The Union Steamship Co. We had a lot of fun together.
Please accept my sincere condolences on your very sad loss.
Kindest regards,
John Broughton
