Bruce was a good friend all through high school, and one of the most open-minded and considerate individuals I have known. While many of our classmates were forming exclusive 'cliques', Bruce - not unlike myself - moved freely among them, and everyone benefited from his bridge-building social activities. He was one of the few who purchased an AMC Pacer, and he'd often pick me up and we'd cruise around the Spencer locale, discussing recent events and sharing opinions. I moved to Menomonie in 1977, and lost touch with him then, and even though we never did connect after that, I have no doubt that he led an interesting life. Bruce was a great guy, and I am proud to be able to say that he was a good friend, as well. He will not be forgotten...

Shocked and saddened to hear of Bruce's death! He visited me in Eugene in the late 1970s or early 1980s, after having moved to AZ. He was a carpet layer then and had a few interesting stories to tell about that. If I remember correctly, at the time, he wasn't sure if he wanted to stay in AZ but it seems like he was appreciating the vast differences between urban and rural, Wis and AZ. He had a really nice car in high school with a great sound system but when I sat in the middle in the front I worried my feet would get tangled up in the speaker wires. I'm so sorry he's gone and that I'll never see him again. It meant so much to me that he came to see me in Oregon. To Bruce's family and especially to you, Jeff, my condolences and deepest sympathies.
