Florence, Laurel and Family, Bill and I were so sad to hear of Herb's passing. He was always such a gentleman. It was always so apparent to me that he was a dedicated family man. I am so glad that I had some nice conversations with him at the Legion.

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Herb when I volunteered at the respite care center. He was a kind and gentle man and I enjoyed spending time with him. It was early June last year when I stopped by to see what I could do as a volunteer, and they asked if I would take Herb outside with me and plant some flowers around the respite care center sign. Herb and I sat in the warm sun and talked and he supervised the planting. I'd also see him from time to time and I would sit with him. Once at a memory cafe event he left the table he was sitting at and came over to my table and sat down. To me that was a clear sign of friendship and I was happy to have Herb recognize me as a friend. It was also a pleasure getting to know his wife, Florence.

A donation in Herb's honor has been given to Marshfield Area Purple Angels to help build more support, social programs, and respite care for families experiencing Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia here in the Marshfield Community.

"When a man has done what he considers to be his duty for his family and his country, he can rest in peace. This solider, I believe, has made that effort and therefore will sleep for the eternity."

Rest in peace, Herb. I will miss you.

We are so sorry for the family of our dear friend Herb. He was such a jovial, sincere, friendly fellow who always had a smile for us all-especially at our Sons of Norway meetings. We can understand your loss of this fine man who lived a long life. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Blessings as you go through all the memories you have of your husband, father, grampa, great grampa & uncle.
Herb will be missed. Prayers for you Florence, Laurel, Aaron, Kristen & all of your family.
