Mary was a wonderful neighbor. She loved her home in Hatfield and we were glad to help her out when needed. The deer miss her corn!

To Mary's family -- you have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I lost my own mother to Alzheimer's disease just over a year ago, and it was such a healing experience for me to be able to spend time with Mary and others over the past year.

I had the honor of meeting Mary through the Marshfield Area Purple Angels PALS program. I would visit with Mary weekly at Three Oaks and I enjoyed many conversations with her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she loved to play a game we invented called "yarn ball" where we would sit around a table and toss and roll balls of yarn. Mary had a lot of capabilities that seemed to be mostly underestimated, and many of the staff seemed surprised at all the things she said and did whenever she was engaged in meaningful activities and music therapy provided through the PALS program. I always enjoyed my time with her and I will miss her greatly. I have made a donation in her memory to Marshfield Area Purple Angels to continue the PALS program to provide the needed social, emotional, and physical aspects of dementia care that are sorely lacking in our nursing homes and care facilities.
