Gosse, Junior "Sam" H.
Junior "Sam" Henry Gosse, 82, passed away at Mt. View Care Center on Friday, March 4, 2016, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Sam was born, the youngest of four children, on September 28, 1933 in Marshfield, to Henry and Doris (Lindow) Gosse. He was born a month premature and was sent home in a shoebox not expected to live. Sam went on to live a full life as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He grew up on a farm near Colby and attended school in that area as well. In 1954 he met his future bride Gladys Kuenzi, and they were later married in Abbotsford on November 1, 1958. Sam served in the U.S. Army, stationed out of the Chicago area. Together they lived several places before settling in Wausau in 1967. Sam worked at Foremost Foods in Rothschild for 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, and trapping. He loved and respected animals, including his Springer Spaniels.
Survivors include his children, Sonia (Peter) Gestner and Tim (Donna) Gosse; grandchildren, Katie (Craig) Buttke, Julie Gestner (Dustin Winter), Matthew Gestner, Preston (Chelsee) Hanson, and Seazon Hanson; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bernice Gosse; nephews; a niece; a cousin; and dog, Buttons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, on November 9, 2008; parents, Henry and Doris; brother, Victor Gosse; sisters, Ione Bahr and Delila Hamel; and brothers-in-law, Loyd Hamel and Sammy Bahr.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau, with Rev. Zach Holdorf officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery, Town of Mayville, Clark County, WI.

I've only known your Dad a few short years, but during that time, I was able to appreciate his thoughtfulness and the watchful eye over my rental property across the street. His caring demeanor which be greatly missed.
