Christine Mary (Golba) Palis, 68, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, NC. Born November 24, 1952, daughter of Marie (Solek) Golba and the late Chester S. Golba, she was raised in Chicopee, had lived locally for several years, and then for the past forty years resided in Clemmons, NC. A graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1970, Christine continued her education at Westfield State College, graduating summa cum laude in 1974 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education. She taught in the Pittsfield Public School district and in the Forsyth County (NC) district for a few years, and later worked for American Airlines. Christine had an incredible spirit and positively touched all those she met throughout her life. She was predeceased by her father, Chester S. Golba, and her sister, Mary Diane Windrum. Christine is survived by her loving son, Dr. Jeffrey Palis and his partner, Dr. Sarah Schwartz; her husband, Gary Palis, all of NC; her devoted, loving, caring mother, Marie Golba of Chicopee; twin brother, Christopher Golba of Agawam; brother-in-law, Thomas Windrum of Chicopee; and nieces, Diane Windrum of Westfield and Jennifer Valenzuela of Los Angeles, CA. Funeral services will be held Friday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 9-10:15AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the National Park Trust, 401 E. I worked in TLC with Chris for several years. She was such a nice person. I´m so sorry for your loss, Jeff. She always talked about you and your achievements. She was extremely proud of you and rightfully so.
