Christopher Joseph Dudley, 43, of Ludlow, Massachusetts, passed away without warning on Friday, April 30th, 2021. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts to Dennis and Joanne Dudley, he remained a lifelong resident of Ludlow, graduating from Ludlow High School and working in the area, primarily in construction.
Christopher’s most treasured accomplishment was his daughter, Madison Noelle Dudley, 17. She was the light of his life, his best friend and confident, and his pride and joy. He and “Maddie” shared a love of music—especially Bob Marley, and hiking with his dog, Orry the Pug. He had grown to love his sunrise hikes with Orry, climbing whenever they could to welcome the day.
Christopher adored trout fishing, which he learned at an early age with his grandfather, Joseph Berkowicz. He was blessed to spend his last day doing something that brought him such joy, with good friends, and in the hopeful season of Spring.
He was an ardent sports fan, faithfully watching the Bruins, Patriots, and—more recently—Buccaneers! Between seasons and games, he kept up with his teams through the daily comforting banter of sports radio.
Although his life was tragically short, Christopher leaves a legacy of courage in the face of challenges; a character full of both pride and compassion; and a deep, abiding love for his friends and loved ones. Not to mention a quick wit that he wielded unflinchingly, often in humble self-deprecation.
Christopher is survived by his beloved daughter, Madison Noelle Dudley, of Ludlow, MA; his doting parents, Dennis and Joanne Dudley, of Ludlow, MA; brothers Kevin Dudley, and Matthew Dudley and his wife, Emily, all of Ludlow, MA. Extended family includes aunts Darleen Wilson, of Monroe, NJ; Cindy Suzor, of Vero Beach, FL; Diane Kotwicki of North Attleboro, MA, Dorothy McClean of Florida; and Norman Dudley, and his wife, Dorothy, of Tennessee. The bereaved also include numerous cousins and close friends.
The services for Christopher will be private. Memorial donations can be made to The National Alliance on Mental Illness at donate.nami.org. For more information please visit curranjones.com

Chris was a teammate of mine on the basketball team back over 30 years ago. I remember those fond days at the Boys and Girls Club in Ludlow being coached by his dad Dennis. Chris was always a team player. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Chris.

Joanne and Dennis, I know we have lost touch after high school football with our boys, but I have such fond memories of Chris during those football years. He was always such a great kid. I can’t even imagine the loss you and your family are going through. You and your family will be in my prayers.
