Shelley Green passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. A kind hearted soul, Shelley enjoyed taking care of other people. She was extremely passionate about children which led to her Bachelor's degree in Education from Westfield State College. She worked in Hospitality for numerous years teaching and training. She also enjoyed travel which led her to a year touring Europe and eventually moving to New York City for 10+ years. She later moved home to Springfield to care for her loving parents, Julius and Gretel Green, whom have predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her brother, Gordon Green. Shelley leaves behind her nieces Pauline (Chris) Reynolds and Jillian Green, her uncle Michael Phillips, Aunt Jane Green, sister-in-law Marianne Hutchinson, her great niblings Collin and Cal Green and Edan Reynolds; her cousins Steven Green, Tobi Green, Bobby (Karen) Jones, Tommy (Michelle) Jones, Janice (David) Finkelstein and son Jordan, Richard (Judy) Berger and son Jeremy and late daughter Rebecca, Evelyn (Bill) Cohn and their children, and Amy Hecht, and Oren Phillips, and other cousins; her friends Linda Raschi (and children Mason and Max), Mitzy Gibson, Deb Perenick-Cotela, and many other amazing friends. The family would like to thank Judy and Samantha for all the loving care they provided for Shelley. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's research or the charity of one's choice. The service will be a private ceremony. The Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home is helping the family.
