I was fortunate to be Dr. Kromayer's colleague at Moravian College. We taught pedagogy to future world language teachers and then supervised their student teaching experiences. Dr. Kromayer was a gifted, caring teacher. She thought deeply about how to teach and passed on her knowledge about pedagogy as well as her devotion to teaching, shaping the teaching of world languages throughout the Lehigh Valley and impacting it elsewhere. I will forever be grateful that Dr. Kromayer mentored me as I entered the world of college teaching, showering me with her wisdom and love, allowing me to know personally her gifts as a teacher and to be touched by her profound human spirit.

Astrid was a great lady, and a great inspiration to anyone who knew her. She will be sadly missed. William Gow

Dr Kromayer was a gifted "teacher's teacher" of languages. I took her Spanish I course in the 90's when I was already an experienced teacher, and I learned a lot more than grammar. She was also the mother of one of my most memorable and accomplished students (Nettie). Muchísimas gracias, Astrid!

She was a superb teacher who with knowledge, patience and love changed my life. Her greatest gift was helping her students believe in themselves. All my life I have tried to live up to her high estimation of my potential. She brought out the best of me. I will be grateful forever.
