I became acquainted with Gib in the early 90's during the time
I was a bartender at the North End Wanderers' Association. Within a short period of time we established a great rapport........we were both Phillies' fans and enjoyed chatting back and forth during his visits. Gibby loved football and basketball as well so the majority of our chats were pretty much sports related. May I say that it was pleasure to see him stop by as he was always upbeat and had a great sense of humor. The last time I saw my "friend" was when I was doing some shopping at the Valley Food Store just a few months ago. He had a smile on his face and kidded me about being such an avid Phillies' fan. Condolences to the family and I'm certain he will Rest in Peace.
