I was shocked and very saddened by the news of Dave's passing. I've known Dave for over 25 years as colleagues at Guardian. Dave as an underwriter and myself in group sales.
I couldn't have had the success I did without Dave. On many occasions he spoke about trusting me, and I loved him for that. I remember lamenting when Guardian moved Dave to underwriting groups with 500+ lives as I know that I wouldn't be able to call him very often. Dave was my go to underwriter when I had something that he could work on.
When we would talk about a new opportunity and he agreed to help me do what was needed to win it, he would always say "What are they going to do, fire me?" That was Dave. Relationships were important to him and he was always going to do the right thing, even if it meant taking some heat in the process.
I'm going to miss Dave very much. had thought I would see him again one day. This is very sad...

Dear Aunt Louise, Judy and family of David -

Teresa and I would like to send our sincere condolences on the loss of a great son, husband, dad, grandfather and for me, cousin. With our age difference and my not living in the Lehigh Valley for decades, I was only around Dave a few times as an adult but it was obvious that Uncle Johnny and Aunt Phyllis did a great job raising a serious and honest person, all of which is reflected in the comments I have read about Dave's love and devotion to Judy, his children and grandchildren. Please take care in this difficult time and please make note of my contact info below.
Love,
Cousin Lou Kropf and wife Teresa

Judy and Family - sending our deepest sympathy for the loss of Dave. Dave was always so happy to share what his family was doing, so proud of his children’s accomplishments and then when his grandchildren arrived, he was bursting with joy when he talked about them! Dave was a good friend and will be dearly missed. Sending love and prayers to his family.

Judy, so sorry about your loss. I wanted to share a memory about Dave. When we were sophomores at Kutztown, he was in the room next to mine. Every two weeks or so I would come over and ask him if I could borrow his nail clippers. He said "Sure, but you need to get your own pair!" One night when a few of us were out walking the streets of Kutztown, Dave pulled me into a store and said, "Curt, they sell nail clippers. I'm going to stand here and watch you buy a pair!" So I did. :) Just a funny memory of Dave I'll always have.

I hope one evening when the grieving is tolerable and you're feeling better you can join us on our evening Kutztown meetings. It would be lovely to hear from you and let us know how things are going.

God bless.

I was saddened to see that Dave past away. I grew up with him in Coplay and I remember all the good times we had on 10th St. I saw Dave a little more than 2 years ago and unfortunately the old gang doesn’t see enough of each other. RIP Dave and one day we’ll see each other again.
