Don was my freshman resident advisor at Syracuse University in 1956-57 and we established a fine relationship...his graduate field of study, political science, was my major. Having read a lead story about me about 4 years ago in the Maxwell School Magazine of Syracuse Univ. (I am a major benefactor - we both studied at Maxwell) he contacted me and was my lunch guest along with Theresa in NYC where I live. It was a joy to have seen him again after all these years and we spent hours not only reminiscing but talking the myriad subjects in which we were both interested, especially Russia, his field of expertise.
We were both filled with happiness at seeing each other--he thereafter sent me his privately-printed autobiographical memoir which I read with interest. Don was one of the nicest and most brilliant people I have known and I will treasure his memory.

Don Barry was my best friend from the 7th grade at Kirk Junior High School in East Cleveland. We graduated together January 1952 from Shaw High. He was captain of the high school basketball team, attended and roomed together and graduated in 1956 from Ohio University. He was best man at our wedding. We both went to Windermere Methodist Church. Don was baptized there. Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. Don believed that Jesus Christ was crucified for his sins and in His resurrection from the dead for our justification. We are still praying for Theresa, Don's love and angel for over 10 years.

Don was very kind and supportive during the early stages of my career. I cherished his friendship.
