I last spoke with Howie right before the holidays, Howie started off as a business acquaintance, and immediately became a friend. We both shared a similar sense of humor, and had many conversations about our love for music. He often spoke of his love for his wife and his family, especially his grandchildren. He routinely emailed or called to see how he can better service our company, Elek Plumbing, and also checked in routinely just to say hi, or say something funny or witty to brighten up my day. Today, as I began the prepare for my next project that Howie usually helped with, I was informed Howie had passed away. As I thought back, realizing I have not heard from him since December, I knew that was not typical of Howie. It was the little things in life that Howie did that left such a big impression. I will miss his kind & caring nature, and laughter. He was a special person who knew how to make others feel special as well. My heart goes out to his entire family. He will be missed but not forgotten. I am

Still in shock. I saw a red cardinal the other day and thought of you. You will always hold a special place in my heart and the hearts of my children for your kind friendship. You are one of the best people I have known. I am so lucky to have had you in my life. RIP my friend

I will miss you everyday. You always had a kind word and a big smile for me whenever we saw each other. I know you are smiling down at all of us.

I met Howard for the first time at my sister Kathy's 50th pre reunion party in NJ in 2015. Kathy and Howard were classmates of Glen Rock HS class of '65. I was a classmate of Howard's brother Lee so I introduced myself. I soon learned that Howard was from a big family, like myself and we spoke about how much fun it was growing up in a large family. Just in the short time that I spoke with him, it felt like I had known him forever. Howard was friendly, happy and seemed to be full of life. I am sorry for your loss, he will be missed.
