This was not a man, this was an angel that was flying low. If I were to describe Richard in a few words they would be "One of a kind". As a kid who spent 12 years straight with Richard, it feels weird not being able to talk to him.
I loved everything about Richard, how he laughed, talked, helped, I looked up to him. As a young child my father was never their for me and I often cried because I wouldn't get to see him, but such a wonderful and thoughtful man decided to take matters into his own hand and step in as my father. He did everything he could for me and more and even when he said "That's all I can do" in my head I thought "It's more than enough". As time went on Richard grew weaker from the waist down, when I turned 11 years old I became strong enough to help him physically and that's when I devoted myself to help him as much as I can until he dies. When it actually happened I fell back pretty hard and it was hard to get back up but I know he is happy because somewhere up in heaven he is sitting down and talking with his wife and being happy. So if you can hear me Richard Kuder rest in peace I will make sure that your voice is echoed through generations to come.

The Reiche and Melcher families are so greatly saddened to learn of the loss of such a wonderfully sweet and compassionate man. I have wonderful childhood memories of the choir couples at Salem UCC always watching over me at their numerous gatherings and events. Dick was one of those people who always kept an eye out for me. After our father passed away, Dick was always there to help our mother. They were the best of buddies and truly incorporate the meaning of life-long friends. I believe that heaven is having a Salem UCC party now that Dick is there. Blessings to all of his family, but especially to Kwame. Their grandfather/grandson relationship was something to marvel. Blessings to Mark, my high school buddy and his wife, Tina, and to Melody who was by Dick's side until he went home to the loving arms of God.

When you look at this obituary, it's so surreal. It's hard to believe this sweet man is no longer here too talk to and be with. Such a beautiful picture of Dick. This was how I saw him, always, a big smile on his face! He was so up, kind, caring, a good conversationalist. He always spoke of his children with love and all his grandbabies meant the world to him. He experienced a beautiful crossing, befitting such a remarkable man. Sandy, Mark, girls....my deepest sympathy.
