I knew Jack for all his 74 years. We grew up together, played together, walked to Woodmont school together and stayed in touch when he left for California. Every birthday Christmas and sometimes in between those special days we would talk for hours. Jack was one of a kind. Big Charley my dad would call Jack Wimpy and no one but Jack knew why as it was a special bond between my dad and Jack All who knew him will miss Jack and I especially will think about him on birthdays Christmas and all the times in between. May he rest in peace in the hands of God.

I met "Lockwood" over 40 yrs ago when we learned TM (transcendental meditation) in Palo Alto, CA. During the 80s and 90s we attended many classes and courses together around the Palo Alto, CA area. We always talked on our birthdays - he called me on mine last April and I called him on July 28. I was wondering why he didn't reply to my birthday phone call and my emails in July about attending a TM course together.....today I reluctantly called his cell phone again and it was disconnected, so I finally did some research and found his obituary. This news was quite a shock to me. If anyone has more information on his passing, I would really appreciate an email to [email protected] I've probably missed any memorial that may have been here.

We attended over 50 TM courses together and spent many hours walking and talking in the beautiful redwoods in the Santa Cruz mts around the monastery where the courses were held.

Jack and I shared a love for sports and he attended some 49ers games with me during the 30 yrs I had season tickets. My most fun sports memory with Jack was about 25 yrs ago when I snagged front row courtside seats to a Warriors game. 49er great Ronnie Lott was 2 seats down from us.

Lockwood, your path to enlightenment was reached sooner than I hoped, but the journey we shared over 40 yrs was pretty amazing.

Jack was one of my best friends since our freshman year at BGA. He sang and played guitar at Angie's and my wedding. We stayed in touch regularly by phone ,and his favorite topic was the old BGA days.He had a great sense of humor and a very big heart. He never had a bad word to say about anyone.I'll miss him very much.Knowing him made me a better person.I hope he is at peace.
