Angel "Lito" Gonzales

Angel Gonzales, known to his family and friends as "Lito", a long-time resident of Milpitas passed peacefully into heaven on November 23, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 87. Lito was born on October 2, 1930, in Glendale, AZ. He was the 2nd of 6 children. The Gonzales family moved to California when Lito was a child and settled in Malaga, CA. Lito spent his childhood going to school in Malaga and spent the summers working in the fields picking grapes, and various fruits and vegetables of the region. At age 17, Lito entered the military. He served for 4 honorable years in the Army as a Medic Truck Driver during the Korean War. Upon exiting the military, Lito worked a variety of jobs and attended Fresno Junior College where he received a certificate in Electricity. In 1955, Lito met Victoria Torres of Planada, CA. They wed in 1957. Lito and Vicky resided in Fresno, CA for the early part of their marriage, then moved to the Bay Area in 1960 and settled in Milpitas. Lito worked as a machine operator for Container Corporation of America (CCA) in Santa Clara for 35 years until his retirement in 1995. Lito and Vicky had three children and just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 18. Lito was a remarkable husband, father, brother and friend. His generosity, kindness and love for his family and friends was boundless. Lito is survived by his wife, Victoria, daughter Valerie Marco, son Michael Gonzales and his wife Judith, daughter Sabrina Allen, grandson Daniel Gonzales (Valerie) and his wife Robin, grandson Mason (Valerie), grandson Casey (Sabrina), grandson Benjamin (Sabrina), great granddaughter Ella (Daniel and Robin) and great grandson Gavin (Daniel and Robin.) Memorial and Interment will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 8th at the St. Clare Chapel at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery (490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara, 95050) followed by reception at the Milpitas Community Center. The family invites all who knew Lito to join the festivities and celebrate how wonderful he was. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made online to The Michael J.
