I was friends with the Jacqua Family in the late 1950's and early 1960's and unfortunately lost touch when my family relocated away from Los Altos. But I never stopped thinking about them. During the days, as a five year old kid, I think I spent more time at their home than my own home. Dick and Ami preferred that I use their first names and not Mr. and Mrs. Dick used to build some amazing tree houses just for the kids, and a few rope swings as well. Their daughter, Wendy, and I were about the same age and very close friends. I remember exploring the ranch as well as some mansion which the family used to stay in during the summers. I am not sure what led me to google this morning, my mother-in-law used to call me "psych" (rhymes with fish), short for psychic. My heart goes out o the entire family, of which Dick was an integral part, at this time, and I wish them all well.

I'm still playing some pieces on the guitar that Dick taught me back in the mid seventies. Always a gentleman and easy to be around. Great man.

I met Mr. Jaqua over 30 years ago at a friend's wedding and was charmed by his quick wit and smile. He and Ami attended my own wedding, where they delighted everyone with their lively country dancing and unexpectedly got folks onto the dance floor for some good old-fashioned square dancing! I had the pleasure of chatting with him up at the ranch over the years, but my favorite memory is of the joy he brought to our wedding day with a few heel to toe clicks and do-si-dos.

A truly wonderful father, husband , brother and Uncle. I almost didn't recognize him in the coat and tie:) he will be missed and his intellect and talent at most everything he did was amazing. His music, and stories were gifts from above. We will all miss his deep voice and thoughtful conversations. Rest up uncle, hope to see you again!
