Immensely stylish Virginia Ann (Hess, Zappacosta) Woodall, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, loved ones, pizza and Bobby Vinton at Kaiser San Jose on Saturday, 9.29.18 at 7:56 p.m. after a battle with breast cancer.
Born Virginia Ann Hess on January 27, 1936, in Pleasant Hill, OH, she is survived by her daughters, Valerie Zappacosta Rekward (Robert), Vickie Zappacosta Anderson (John); three sisters, Wilma Spitler, Marilyn Rotterman, and Judy Amick of Pleasant Hill, OH; daughter-in-law, Carla; grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Sabrina, and Samantha.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Melivin Woodall; her son, Brent Zappacosta; parents, Mildred and Roy Hess of Pleasant Hill, OH; and her brother, Glen Hess.
An honorably discharged Air Force Corpsman, she was a generous, kind, beautiful, loving mother and friend. On Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, the family is holding a "Celebration of Life" for close friends and family. Virginia died as she lived, with dignity and grace. She will live in our hearts forever.
