She was my 3rd grad teacher 25years ago and I saw her at a wedding last year. She remembered me, where I sat and how I was. I loved 3rd grade because of her. The butterflies was everyone's favorite time. She was a wonderful and caring individual. May she rest in peace.

I didn't have Mrs. Woodruff in school, but everyone was jealous of the kids who did. She is such an example to me of what kind of positive difference one teacher can make. (I am a high school teacher.) She is an ECS legend. :o)
My son will start kindergarten this year, and I was just telling him yesterday about the teacher with the butterflies at my elementary school. I hope my kids are lucky enough to get a teacher with as much enthusiasm and excitement for learning as Mrs. Woodruff clearly had. So sorry for your loss. She will be remembered fondly by the ECS/Cromwell family.

I remember Esther as a "second mom" to the Glennon kids. Some of my very first memories are of spending time at her house. I was very small but remember it as a peaceful and happy place. Esther and my mother had a lot of fun together. Through the years Esther was a wonderful friend to my mother and always kept up with all of her children. She would tell my mother that "Amy belongs in Connecticut!" I never quite made it there as a full-time resident but my heart is still there Esther, and I'm holding your beautiful family in prayer. Love always!

My deepest sympathy to the Woodruff clan. And my thanks to you, Esther, for enriching my life with your friendship. Au revoir!...
