My sincere condolences to the family for the loss of your loved one. May prayers strengthen you and memories comfort you, and may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who loves us, comfort your hearts and "make you firm". (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17)

My Dearest Linda...at this point in time, I can only tell you how very sorry I am for the loss of your precious Joe. I pray we will all one day be worthy to join Joe in his glorious new home sharing in freedom from the pains of this world.

I did not realize your Joe had left this earth until I returned from a Christmas trip with my son, Matthew, in New Jersey.

Please know my thoughts, prayers and love are and have been with you and your family.

I love you,
Cherie

TO LINDA, LAURIE, JOEY AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY: I AM TRULY SORRY FOR THE LOSS THAT ALL OF YOU HAVE SUFFERED. JOE WAS A GOOD MAN, A GOOD CHRISTIAN, AN ARMY VETERAN, A DEVOTED FAMILY MAN AND SOMEONE I WAS PROUD TO CALL MY FRIEND. I FIRST MET JOE BACK IN THE EARLY 70'S WHEN I WAS JUST A ROOKIE ON THE MOBILE FIRE DEPARTMENT. I WAS DETAILED TO CO. 9 FIRE STATION WHERE JOE WAS THE DRIVER. BEING A ROOKIE ON THE JOB, I WAS WORRIED ABOUT KNOWING WHAT TO DO ON A DIFFERENT TRUCK THEN I USUALLY WORKED ON, WELL JOE SPENT ENOUGH TIME WITH ME THAT I FELT MUCH MORE AT EASE WHEN WE HAD FINISHED. FROM THAT DAY ON WE BECAME FAST FRIENDS. I WAS EVENTUALLY ASSIGNED TO CO. 9, SO I WAS ABLE TO GET TO KNOW JOE EVEN BETTER. JOE WORKED ON HIS OFF-DAYS AT THE CITY MUSEUM AND WORKED ON RESTORING SOME OF THE OLD FIRE EQUIPMENT THAT THEY HAD THERE. I WAS LATER TRANSFERED TO OTHER COMPANIES. WE WORKED TOGETHER AGAIN IN THE FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE. WHILE IN THERE, HE WORKED WITH EDUCATING CHILDREN ABOUT FIRE SAFETY. HE DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB, JUST LIKE HE HAS ALWAYS DONE. HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND THAT I WILL TRULY MISS. I AM SORRY THAT I WAS UNABLE TO ATTEND JOE'S SERVICES TO PAY THE RESPECTS THAT I TRULY HAVE FOR JOE AND HIS FAMILY.

WITH MY GREATEST RESPECTS LARRY HANSEN
