Neal was my Scout Leader when I was in cub scouts. He was a great leader and well respected as a good man. He walks with the spirit of the bear and wolf now. You will be missed Mr. Neal.

I grew up with Neal in the late 50 & 60's -- I have great memories of those years - playing in their backyard and enjoying "war games' etc. We were always the soldiers on the winning side; Later as teenagers we "ran" the roads of Mobile and Miss. in his metallic green'57 Ford (it was a former police car with a big old V8); Me made quite the pair, Neal at 6 feet + and me at 5 feet ?. We lived behind their house which was on Wagner Ct. - I think 560? We lived on Schwartz St. I spend many great hours with his family. His Dad who work such hard hours and his wonderful Mom who made me feel like a family member, as she did everyone.
We remained close, since both our families moved from Toulminville to Semmes and only a few miles apart.
I always remember the '49 Ford he drove and parked on the street because it leaked oil. I also remember the time he forgot to turn the wheels to the curb and during the night it rolled down the street into a neighbors front yard. He first thought someone stole it ....not likely based on the condition. The 57 Ford came later.
I left immediately after HS and did not return except for rare family visits. We lost touch many years ago, but he still was my first best friend.
To his family..... you have my deepest condolences; Although he is no longer in our presence, the memory of him will be with you forever. I hope those memories will balance the grief.
