George Kiorpelidis

Uncle George had the honorary title of "The General". This was a nod to huge "George General Auto Garage" sign over the place that most of us went to seek his guidance. As a young boy I remembered all those people he would sit with and share ideas with. I would wonder what could they be talking about? That was, of course, only until it became my turn.
George was a good listener and he could cut right through you with that knowing look he could give you. You couldn't BS him. George touched the lives of countless people by generously sharing of his time and more importantly his hard earned wisdom.
Hew will be sorely missed.
Our sincerest condolences to the entire family.

In a passing moment of clarity when my mother and I told my father of his brothers passing his words were:
"I will miss you brother, you were the foundation on which our family grew. "
And lovingly referred to him as "O prostattis tis eccoyaneas."

Uncle George had a special role. Not being our father, he never the less was a great mentor, friend and supporter, to us all in many different ways than anyone else in our lives.
His loss is a particularly hard one, however, it is also filled with the years of happy memories and life forming guidance lessons which, we will never forget.
The special connection that we had will be sorrily missed.
We share our condolences with his family and all our relatives. May Uncle George rest in peace.

My father Andreas Mantelis worked for many years for Mr. Bougadis as a master bodyman at his garage on Marie-Anne. I remember as a teenager visiting my dad at the garage on many occasions and always ran into Mr. Bougadis who always greeted me with a smile. My father always told me that he was the smartest and fairest employer he ever worked for. My father had the highest respect for him and loved working there. After my dad passed away in 1991 I continued
going to George General Auto Repair to fix my own car because I trusted him and most of all respected him. To this day I still pass by the old boarded up garage and peak inside and imagine my dad working there and Mr. Bougadis walking around and supervising his men.
May God bless him and may he rest in forever lasting peace.
