I will always remember my dad's stories of his youngest brother, Howard, and how they lost him in the war. He said that his mother had a difficult time dealing with the loss of her son for the rest of her life. It was always the family prayer that Howard could not only be found but that he also could be brought back home to be buried with his family. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for hearing our family prayer and for providing a way to make it possible. Thank you, Uncle Howard, for loving and serving our country. Your family will always love and honor you.

While I never knew your great uncle, I also had an uncle killed in WWII. He was married for just months and well on his way to success in life. While I was born 7 years after his death I often wondered how life would have been had he lived. A college friend of my uncle stopped by my grandparents when I happened to be there many years ago. I remembered his name and only recently read my uncle's college friend's obituary at age 93. His friends obituary was full of accomplishments, 63 year marriage, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends in the Middlesex community after his retirement. I suspect my uncle's life would have been similar and I also suspect your great uncle's life would have been as well had he lived.
