John V. Rugg
Farmington - John V. Rugg, age 89, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, April 3, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor (Eberlein) Rugg; four children, Dr. Leslie Meehan (Roger Sanford), Karen Rugg, Geoffrey Rugg and Christopher (Alana) Rugg; and five grandchildren, Patrick, Lisa, Addyson, Aubrey and Averye. He was predeceased by his sister, Sara Shira.
John retired in 1987 after many years as an Administrator in the Whitney Point School District, near Binghamton. In 2013, John and Eleanor moved to Farmington and continued his Rotary membership in the Victor-Farmington Rotary Club. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Canandaigua and sang in the choir. John also sang with the Finger Lakes Chorale.
Services are private. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Whitney Point. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 58 N. Main St., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
