I wanted to say think you to so many of you who shared your comments here. We've received many cards, notes, calls, etc. from people who knew my father, members of our family and/or me personally. It means a lot to us that you've taken a moment to share and remember. We're grateful for that and your friendship.

We're all very saddened by his passing, but we know he had a good life, love, laughs, friends, across the years, and with his health failing him in the end, I think it was frustrating for him not to be able to care for his wife, friends and family as he had always done. So it is some consolation to know that he's now at peace.

I thought I would share one picture here, if Dad in his element. He loved to fish and it's one of the many things I'm grateful he taught me.

As another colleague from Chase, I learned a great deal from Joe. He was kind and impatient, irraciable and generous, very willing to give of himself when others needed help. His was truly a life well lived.

I loved working with Joe at Chase. He brightened my day! A real family man who boasted of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

My sincere sympathy to Joe's family on your loss of a great man. He was known to everyone at Ontario ARC and had a heart of gold for our folks. Rest in Peace, and prayers to your family.

I remember the day back in the summer of 1984 or 1985 and there was word that a very good football player was moving to town and would join the CA team. Joe Bognanno III and I met after church that day at St Marys along with his family including Joe Jr.
Extra emphasis on good grades, hard work and discipline was something that Joe brought to our team and our class because of his father.

Joe Bognanno moved to Canandaigua from Iowa and was only an asset to the community.

Joe was a good friend to many of his classmates; all of us were blessed to have him in our lives.

Joe's dad, Big Joe, was especially pleased when we attempted to mount dual exhausts on the family's brand new Yellow & White Buick in 1953-54. We failed miserably at that....the sound was that of a large diesel truck roaring down the highway. One of many great memories.

We love you, Brother, and we'll miss you big-time.

Peace and Love,

Bob "Bails" Bailey

RIP Joe Jr. I knew Joe Sr when he was a Bondsman in Dsm. He used to come to the Polk County Jail when I worked there and bail folks out. He was a gentleman and a professional and just a damn nice guy ! I really enjoyed talking to him.
