Margaret Ann "Peg" Maxey??PITTSFORD – Margaret Ann "Peg" Maxey died?peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 17, 2020.
Peg is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; three children, Lee (Heather), Susan and Christine (Paul, deceased); three grandchildren, Zoe, Elizabeth and Zak and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Sarah and Albert Klimcheck and was also predeceased by her dear brothers, Albert and Charles.??Peg was a loving wife, caring mother, loyal sister, trained nurse, compassionate teacher and a dear friend to many. People who spent time with her have said, "She is so calm," or "Her peacefulness makes me feel relaxed."
She was an avid competitive bridge player who logged tens of thousands of games; a golfer who got a hole-in-one; and loved her garden, Her rhubarb will be filling pies for decades to come.??Peg was born on Sept. 14, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and got her nursing degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
Peg and Joe met while she was working as a psychiatric nurse at a children's clinic in Washington, D.C. They married and moved to England with their three children before returning to Pittsford where she made her home for the last 50 years.??Peg dedicated her life to making people happy, whether it was the person in line with her at the grocery store, a neighbor in need or her family. She radiated kindness and all those around her benefited from it.??A devout catholic, Peg was an active member of both St. Louis Church in Pittsford and Corpus Christi Church in Rochester.
Active with friends in Pittsford, she was always a giving and kind soul. The last words she was able to use at the end of life were predictably, "please" and "thank you." Peg will be missed and held near to the hearts of many.
Friends may call on Friday, November 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Anthony Funeral Chapel, 2305 Monroe Ave., Rochester. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 28, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church, 64 S. Main St., Pittsford. A socially distanced and casual reception will be held for all who are able at noon at King's Bend Park, Pittsford in the South Lodge.
