Willard E. Champlin
Willard E. Champlin, age 85, passed away at home, on Sunday, April 4, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Luella (Wahl) Champlin; brother, John (Linda) Champlin; brothers-in-law, Robert (Maxine) Wahl and Roger (Joan) Wahl; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four siblings, Robert Champlin, Clara Ernst, Leah Champlin and Shirley Smith.
Will was born in Canandaigua and was the son of William and Gladys (Proper) Champlin. He grew up in West Bloomfield, attended Honeoye Falls High School and was a US Navy Veteran. Will did farming and later worked at Xerox for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He had many interests, including the American Revolution, Civil War and the Erie Canal. If you wanted books on these topics, you just had to ask Will for one of his. He was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and Rochester Red Wings. Will enjoyed fishing, nature and his cats.
A graveside service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Interment will be in Allen's Hill Cemetery, Richmond. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, NY 14489. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomfield.
