My true sympathies for Mr. Ireland's (Coach) passing. As a 1962 Gorham graduate, he was my gym teacher/coach for nearly all my time there. I will almays remember him as that and, more importantly, that he was a good person and role model. Again, my deepest sympathies.
PS--he believe he also played center on the SU football team.

Mary Lou and Cyndi,
I'm very sorry to have learned of your recent loss.
Bill was my teacher for several years so very long ago and earned my respect for the way he worked with everyone in the class.
Perhaps the memory that comes to me most easily is sitting in your den on several occasions and being awestruck by all his running awards. That he was so low key about them made a great impression. Partly because of that, I began running in earnest in college, but quickly found that athletic prowess and me were never to be on a first name basis.
It wasn't until several years into my coaching endeavors that I realized just how special Bill's talent was. I thought of him often as I worked with runners to help them achieve their goals ----and perhaps surpass them.
My sincerest condolences in this time of sorrow for you both and your family.

Dear Lou and Cynde,

I am so sorry to learn about your recent loss. I sit here remembering all the good times we had together. I cherish those good memories as I'm sure you do too. What fun we had! Time does help to heal. My love to you both.

Nancy B.
