Goetchius, William "Bill" Muskegon William "Bill" Goetchius, ascended to his heavenly home on January 23rd at the age of 72. Bill was born on August 9, 1948 to Clarence and Olive (Dake) Goetchius in Muskegon, Michigan. He was a lifetime resident of Egelston Township where he loved to ride his bike, rake yards for his neighbors and most of all ring the bells at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. Bill was a long-time member of Wolf Lake Methodist Church and was filled with joy by singing "This Little Light of Mine" at the Wednesday afternoon sing-a-longs. Bill loved his church and the Oakridge Community, who embraced him and looked out for him and for that his family is eternally grateful. Bill was also active with the Michigan
Special Olympics and enjoyed bowling with the Goodwillie Bowlers. Bill was a long-time participant with Life Circles where he enjoyed many years of camaraderie singing, playing table games, exercising and many other entertaining events that filled him with happy days. While Bill's final years were marked by many difficult challenges, his positive attitude shined through to his last day here on earth. He was a truly remarkable man who never saw himself as "disabled" and lived his life to the fullest. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Davis; sister, Dorothy Schendel; niece, Sherry Coon and nephew, Kelly Davis. He is survived by his sister, Kathy (Bob) Coon; nieces, Doreen Campos, Diane (Bob) Maguire, Valerie (Steve) Morris; nephew, Michael Schendel; brother-in-law, Donald Schendel; several great nieces; great nephews and cousins. There will not be a public memorial service, in lieu of flowers a gift may be given in Bill's name to: Wolf Lake United Methodist Church or Michigan
