Rose McNamara
South Amboy - Rose M. Charmello McNamara, 94, a lifelong resident of South Amboy, died on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in South Amboy, she was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, South Amboy and the St. Mary's Senior Citizens Club. Before retiring she was employed by E.I. DuPont & Co., Parlin and later by Charles E. Komar & Son, South Amboy.
Daughter of the late Nicholas and Angelina Charmello she is also predeceased by her husband John J. McNamara in 2001; her brothers Mayor Joseph Charmello and Anthony Charmello and her sisters Elizabeth Sutherland and Josephine Charmello. She is survived by her son John J. McNamara and his wife Annette; her daughter Charlene Canzano; her sister Nancy Starzynski; her grandchildren Dara Elisabeth Canzano and her husband Christian DeLuigi and John Joseph, Andrew Joseph and Patrick Anthony McNamara and her great-grandchildren Maria Rose and Elisabeth Angela DeLuigi
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 9:45am from The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, South Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8pm.
