John Edward Nagy, Sr
Brownfield - John Edward Nagy, Sr., 65, of Brownfield, formerly of Green Brook, NJ, died unexpectedly, Wed., Aug. 8, 2018 at his home in Brownfield.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1952, in Middlesex, NJ, a son of, John and Edythe (Pack) Nagy. He graduated from East Brunswick High School and was an Eagle Scout recipient as a young man.
In 1974, he married Michele Rojewski and made their home in Green Brook, NJ John worked as a budget analyst for AT&T in New Brunswick, NJ for 20 years, retiring to Brownfield in 2006. He was a member of the Central Jersey Grotto, Burnt Meadow Snowmobile Club in Brownfield as well as the Maine Snowmobile Association. He was an adventurous spirit who enjoyed the climbing, camping, hiking, caving, canoeing, and all things nature. He was a dedicated little league baseball coach who had a penchant for finding and saving wildlife (turtles, dogs, and cats to name a few). He was nominated and awarded two national medals for heroism, including the Carnegie Hero Medal for a selfless deed in 1996.
John is survived by his mother, Edythe of Monroe, NJ; his wife, Michele of Brownfield; children, John Nagy, Jr. and his wife, Jessica of numerous Air Force bases, Michael Nagy and his wife, Nicole of Alexander, ND, and Arielle Nagy of ME; seven grandchildren, Skyler, Dorothy, John III, Olivia, Cameron, Brooke, and Lila; three sisters, Janice Parrott of NJ, Sandra Ramirez of CA, and Louise Wright of NJ; nieces and nephews, including close nephew, Charlie Parrott. He was predeceased by his father.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 2-4PM, Sun., Aug. 12, 2018 at the Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren St., Fryeburg. Condolences and tributes may be shared with his family at www.woodfuneralhome.org.
