Norman H. "Dutch" Weigand, of Forks Township, PA, formerly of Weatherly, PA, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. He was born in Weatherly, PA, he was a son of the late Lewis N. and Dorothy W. (Hartzog) Weigand. Before retiring from National Starch and Chemical, Plainfield, NJ, where he was employed for 38 years, he resided in Branchburg, NJ. He enjoyed his life surrounded by his family and friends and was known for his love of gardening and the outdoors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, the former Marlene S. Thrash; two daughters, Darlene S. Hoffman of Washington, NJ and Shirley E. Marion and her husband John, of Palmer Township, PA; a son, Jonathan W. Weigand, of Branchburg, NJ; grandchildren, Ivan and Sara Hoffman, Justin and Sean Marion, Emily and Alison Weigand; a great-grandson, Kolton Hoffman; a brother, John C. and a sister, Ruth Ann, both of Weatherly, PA. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Dorothy; brother, Wayne "Spanky" Weigand and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Weigand Williams.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton, PA. Offer on-line condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
