Fortunata Valenty

Fords - Fortunata Valenty, 74, of Fords, passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 3, 2017. She was born in the Philippines on May 21, 1943. She was a Teacher, Counselor and Student Advisor in the Perth Amboy School System for 44 years. Forntunata loved traveling and enjoyed cooking.

She was predeceased by a sister, Norma Santiago; her parents, Dr. Fidel Brigino, and Dr. Arsenia Brigino.

Fortunata is survived by her husband of 44 years, Russell Garis Valenty, of Fords; son, Lee Valenty, of Fords; daughter, Lynn Valenty, of Fords; two grandsons, Gavin and Devin; three brothers: Dr. Fidel Brigino, Edgardo Brigino and his wife, Zenaida, and Mario Guidote, all of the Philippines, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863, Saturday 2-5 pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 4:30 pm.

Donations may be made in Fortunata's name to the National Stroke Association, www.stroke.org/ways/give.
