Joseph T. Walsh Sr.,
East Brunswick formerly of Monroe - Joseph T. Walsh Sr., 91, of East Brunswick passed away peacefully on November 26, 2017 at CareOne Nursing Home. He was born in New Brunswick to Vincent Sr. and Madeline (Grabenstein) Walsh. Joseph was a dedicated Fireman to the New Brunswick Fire Department before his retirement in 1987. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his free time, Joseph was an avid salt water surf fisherman. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, brother, Vincent Jr., and sister, Sarah Emery. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Jr. and his wife Leslie of Milltown, Daniel and his partner Andrea of East Brunswick; daughters, Colleen McGuire and her husband, Thomas of Daytona Beach and Shauna Walsh, of PA. He is also survived by his brother Frances (Peggy), sisters, Agnes Lyons and Mary Brede (Howard), 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom knew him lovingly as "Poppa Joe", his brother-in-law, John Emery, who faithfully visited him every week, as well as his nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 3-6 PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick. Prayer Service will begin at Boylan Funeral Home at 5:30 PM. Cremation is private. Family and friends are welcome to meet the family directly at Holy Cross Cemetery, Jamesburg, on Friday December 1, 2017 at 11:30 AM for burial of cremains.
