He touched so many lives for the good. I'm grateful I had the chance to know him. What a good and generous and genuine man Mr. Eckenhoff was. He will be missed. Celebrating the life of a good man and a hero and mourning his passing with you Mrs. Eckenhoff and the rest of the family. He will be missed by many.

Best regards,

Judy, I was so sad to hear just yesterday from Clarence and Dorothy about Ed. Apparently they didn't tell me he was ill because of Jack having had the same illness. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you work through the challenges of living without him. You were such great hosts to my daughter years ago and to us when we were in Naples four years ago! If there's anything I can do for you, please let me know. I will be visiting friends in Marco Island the week of Feb. 9-17 so don't hesitate to call on me- I'll be close by. My sincerest sympathy, Gayle Musgrave

Ed and I were classmates at Transylvania University from 1962-66. He was a friend whose career I was able to follow over the years since our days in Lexington. When I lived in the DC area, I would follow the news stories about his hospital and career. Sincere sympathies to his wife and family.

Mrs. Judi,

Words can't express what I'm feeling at this moment. He was the nicest man I had ever met in my life. My heart is so heavy at this moment, I can only imagine what you must be going through. I can only take joy in knowing that his suffering is over, though I never saw or heard it, he always had joy in his voice when I spoke with him. That was his gift, encouraging others and he was the best. I wish that with each new day, you find peace in your heart. My deepest sympathy.
