Bettie-Anne was a great friend to all of us when she came to The Thames Hospital to undertake her R N training. At that time Bettie-Anne had a horse which shared the horse-paddock at Omahu for a time. Bettie-Anne would take us out into the country as a group riding joyfully on the back of her truck at times on days off. Memories were made of this. Rest In Reace, Bettie-Anne.

We first met Bettie Anne when we moved to Nelson 27 years ago. She became a big part of our family. Many wonderful days of fishing and shooting with Phil, my husband, myself, and my boys Matt and Sean. She was a great inspiration and role model for my 2 boys growing up. We shared many great times, great stories and great laughs with Bettie Anne and Connie. You were a formidable woman and role model. you will be missed but have left lasting memories for us all.

I knew Miss Gleadow as we used to call her firstly when my mother was sister in charge at the Motueka Geriatric Hospital and I was only a young child, then later as a young adult I was a veterinary nurse in Motueka, so we often had Miss Gleadow in with one of the dogs if any thing was awry. I respected Beattie-Anne as my Senior Midwife/Administrator when she visited Golden Bay Maternity Hospital to check on our services in the mid 1980s. I was the acting Midwife Manager so even though Bettie-Anne was a formidable frame, she demanded respect, even while we ate our meal together, provided by the kitchen staff, complete with starched table cloths! She would include hunting while she was on her visit, of course!

I meet Betty Anne and Connie through my brother-in-law Phil, one of her shooting and fishing companions. I remember our visits to their home in Motueka, and it's lovely garden, many birthday and Christmas days spent together and visits in Stillwater. Many fun times And great stories shared. We will miss both of these lovely ladies RIP Betty Anne.

We knew Bettie-Anne from her time living in her unit with Connie at Stillwater across from my mother in law..Betty Anne often came over for a wine and entertained us with stories from her wonderful life, she loved seeing our dogs , particularly our wee terrier..I was lucky to happen upon the Country Calendar episode about her one night when channel surfing..what a strong, independent woman she was!
RIP Bettie-Anne, condolences to all the family.
