Dear Merin and Family,
I was so sad to read of Bob's passing, I know you will all miss him dearly.
I treasure all the stories and bits n bobs that I have fondly gathered over the years. I will be thinking of you all over the next few days as life without the master story teller starts to become reality.

Much love x

My deepest sympathy to my very dear friend Merin, and her three sons, on the death of a much-loved husband and father. Bob, a born story-teller, achieved so much in his life, and will be remembered by so many.

I'm so sorry to read of Bobs sudden passing, I have only met him a couple of times, when I was doing driving assessments for Merin, and he was so lovely to show me around all his antiques including the Rolls, and all the stories! Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Great memories of our many catch-ups on our annual visits to the South Island, also at a couple of the Denniston Reunions.

Dear Merin - my condolences to you and your family. It was a shock to see the notice of Bob's sudden passing, hit me hard. I have been a neighbour and friend of Bob's from early childhood on the hill, through school at Tasman Street and Nelson Central, then later we were teachers at the same time. In many small ways we relied on Bob, and although we didn't see each other often he was always ready for a chat, lengthy at times!! catching up on family news etc. You were forever the apple of his eye! Never forgotten, such a character, very special. Arohanui, Lesley Kotua
