Ruth Angelene Arter
Newark - Ruth Angelene Arter, born February 3, 1920, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2017 at Sharonbrooke Assisted Living in Newark, Ohio. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Emerson E. Moon and Margaret E. (Terrell) Moon, moving to the central Ohio area shortly after her birth. She graduated from West High School in Columbus and attended The Ohio State University. She was a long-time resident of Alexandria, Ohio, and Hernando, Florida, and was Baptist by faith.
Angelene was a very sweet, caring mother and wife, and was a wonderful homemaker. She loved animals and owned several cats and dogs throughout her life. She also loved reading, and traveling the country with her husband in their motorhome, oftentimes traveling with friends or family.
Angelene is survived by her son, Chester Alan Arter (Maria) of Cleveland, daughter Robin Lynn Arter of Newark, sisters Georgia Runkle (Sugar Grove) and Carlynn Charlton (Lecanto, FL), half-brother Merlin D. Moon (Cyndy) of Dublin, sister-in-law Mary Ann Arter of Croton, many nieces and nephews, and her little dog Jasmine who she loved very much and offered much comfort.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Arter and brother, Floyd "Bud" Moon.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at the Florida National Military Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date, where she will be interred next to her husband.

Dear Chet and Robin, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. We will always remember Aunt Angelene fondly and have wonderful memories of the many times spent with you all, on your farm and up the river at Aunt Margie's' and Uncle Floyd's' house during our childhood years. Mom will greatly miss her older sister and remember her always. We send our love and hope that the love of family and friends will be of comfort to you at this time.
