Doris Miller
THORNVILLE - Funeral services, celebrating the life of Doris Aileen Miller, 63, of Thornville, will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Brad Kittle as celebrant. Burial will follow in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.
Doris passed away early Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in Newark following a brief illness. She was born in Charleston, WV, on October 14, 1954, the daughter of the late James Richard and Patricia Ann (Aheart) Marshall.
Doris worked as a teller at the Hopewell Federal Credit Union in Heath, and loved to fish and travel with her husband, and visit with her friends.
She is survived by her loving family: Husband John, whom she married on October 11, 1986, her daughter Kayla Miller, step daughters Dawn (Chris) Kelly, Heather (Michael) Simpkins; seven grandchildren; siblings Dennis (Sarah) Marshall, Deborah Lilly, Robbie (Wendy) Ennis and Sherry Taylor, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 56 South Main St. in Thornville, and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember the many fishing stories she would share with me as well as her many cooking recipes. She truly had a heart of gold and was definitely one of a kind. She will be truly missed.

I was fortunate enough to get to know Doris at Hopewell. What struck me is how much she enjoyed helping other people. I will miss seeing her every day and enjoying her friendship. I am praying for the family & pray that the Lord will comfort you during this difficult time.

I am so sorry John and Kayla for your loss. I will miss her greatly and I will always remember the fun times at Hopewell with her! She was like a second mom to me and she will be missed.

So sorry to hear this. Doris was a lovely lady. I only knew her from Hopewell, but she had gone to school with my husband's brother. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.
