Varlon Eugene "Smitty" Smith
Pataskala - A funeral service for Varlon Eugene "Smitty" Smith, 76 of Pataskala, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018, at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Kevin Ashbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Methodist Cemetery.
Friends may call 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
Varlon "Smitty" passed away, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Mount Carmel East, Columbus. He was born May 10, 1941, in Quinwood, WV to the late Earl C. and Elsie Pearl (Hamm) Smith.
He was a certified auto body repairman and founder of Smitty's Body Shop for 40 plus years. Smitty's passions were family and friends, camping, snowmobiling, drag racing, traveling, NASCAR and horseshoes.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cara Faye Smith; children, Doug (Linda) Smith and David Smith; grandchildren, Elise, Grant, Ian and Abigail; sisters, Jean Walker and Sharon Berry.
He is preceded in death by parents and siblings, Harold, Raymond, Juanita and Catherine.
