My first memory of Brother DePrenger was almost 35 years ago when he preached a funeral service at the church where I was working as a youth pastor. He preached with great power. The DePrengers also served as interim pastors at a church that I previously served. Brother and Sister DePrenger are wonderful examples of GODLY people. They have exhibited an undying love and enthusiasm for the work and Kingdom of God. They were joyful and full of life. The Illinois District mourns the loss, celebrates his life and rejoices in his promotion! One last thing....

WELLLL, GLORY!!!!!

We volunteered at Lake Williamson Christian Center and were members of the Assembly of God Church in Carlinville, IL, where we, personally, met Pastor Deprenger and his wife, Betty. We visited with them at church each Sunday. What a sweet couple, they were. We considered buying a little house that sat just across the road from their home and Pastor came over to tell us about the history of the house and he actually checked out the crawl space for us. We were amazed at his thoughtfulness and his vibrancy. One day he and my husband attended a men's prayer breakfast and I stayed with Betty in case she needed anything. Pastor took such good care of her. After she passed and he moved to Springfield, Mo., we missed him, greatly. We have been hearing wonderful stories about people's memories of both Pastor and Betty. If we remember correctly, he was part of the Dream Team who used to come visit Urbana Assembly of God Church where we were members for many years before moving to Carlinville. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Pastor's family and loved ones. What a beautiful Christian man. Love and prayers, Myron and Sally Kates, Decatur, Il.
