H. Marthena Davis
H. Marthena Davis, 85, Springfield, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
She was born July 9, 1931 in Rogersville, Missouri, the daughter of the late D. Clifford and Martha J. (Gibson) Webb. She was united in marriage on June 2, 1949 to Roy J. "Jeff" Davis. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Webb; and a sister, Lucille Samuel.
Marthena was 1949 graduate of Rogersville High School. She accepted Christ at a very young age at Harmony Baptist Church and served in the church nursery for 29 years. She worked at Lily-Tulip, Royal McBee, was an Avon consultant before retiring, after 20 years, from Heer's Department Store.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jeff; a son, Gail Davis and wife Kathy, Harrison, AR; two daughters, Terri Davis; and Karen Hiser-Long, both of Republic; a sister, Marcelene Howerton and husband Don, Mountain Grove; two grandsons, Jason Hiser and wife Tina; and Jesse Hiser and wife Allie; two granddaughters, Erin Davis; and Jamie Thomas and husband Philaundre; three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Philaundre and Mason; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, March 31, 2017 in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield
.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the funeral home.
