Leon was the Assistant Principal at the Kirksville Junior High School when I was teaching math there. He was a nice man, and I enjoyed working with him. My condolences to his family.

Leon and I were classmates at Oarks. I was always impressed with his quite demeanor and his superior intelligence. He was not an outgoing person in my eyes, and did not say much around me. I noticed that he was always carrying a lot of books with him all the time and he studied profusely. He was in college for two reasons...play football and get a very good education as his goals were to lead students in the love of learning.
I did not know he passed away until I got the University of Ozarks quarterly magazine last week. I am very sorry for his great loss as I know that he touched the lives of many.
My love and condolences to his family.
