Rita, Sue Arnold Everson, Molly Arnold York and I were roommates in Cincinnati from 1954 until Rita left to marry Paul. We have kept in contact every Christmas since then. I sent an email recently to tell Rita that Sue had passed away on Sept. 1st. Not hearing back, I googled Rita's name and was shocked to find her obituary. I send my deepest sympathy to Colette, Catherine, and Carolyn and your families. I will truly miss Rita's annual Christmas letter keeping everyone up on her family's lives and activities as well as hers. We had such good times together as roommates and we all felt she and Paul made the ideal couple. Rita's lovely smile and great personality will always be something I will cherish forever. May she rest in peace.

Here it is ...Labor Day 2016... just heard a few days ago from dau. Catherine, that her Mom, Rita, had passed away. Thank you Catherine for noticing the email I had just sent to Rita... not knowing she had passed in May ! What a shock!
Rita so generously shared Werts family history and genealogy where ever she could. Husband Glen (also b. 1931), Paul, myself and Rita all enjoyed some fun times together, dining out, touring the region, and some shows we saw together at Branson, MO where they, later, just Rita, would meet us at the condo at Stonebridge or spots at Branson. Always so fun & interesting. GLen & Paul were both Military Veterans and enjoyed sharing stories of days gone by.
Rita was a major contributor about the Werts history & details as found in The History of Lucas County, Iowa, 2000, and, Phillip Allen's (RIP, also) Werts Family History, 1994. On visits to her home, Rita would allow me to scan family records, view her inherited quilts, and share all she could to enrich the work I was doing for our family's genealogy.
Rita & I would email back and forth and exchange news at Christmastime. It was wonderful to have extended Werts family to keep in touch with. Glen & I will both miss those contacts and Rita's wonderful, warm charm & smile.
REST IN PEACE, Rita! Mary Beth Noonan Jensen & Glen V. Jensen, on the Machickanee, near Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Colette, Catherine, Carolyn, I am your mother's 1st cousin. A couple of days ago I emailed her. Always she answered my email promptly. Tonight, just wondering about her, I entered her name and Springfield on the computer. There I found her obituary. My deepest condolences to you, and Mr. Gray', I last heard from her at Christmas and all seemed well. When you are able, I would like to hear from you. Had she been ill? If I can be of any assistance, such as informing others, let me know. She was 8 years older than me. What a fun cousin she was! [email protected] 5841 Whited Av.

Thinking of you all at this time. We have many memories of your mom and dad through the years. May God give you peace through the days ahead. Take care and be in touch.
