I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Elliot's passing. Pat taught me everything I love about film. I will appreciate her work and dedication forever.

I was a student at the HK Academy for Performing Arts when Pat was the Dean. It was 1989, during June 4, as one of the student representative I met her several times asking permission to use the school's facilities, she was very supportive and always concerned if we had enough rest. Pat also taught us film appreciation, her class was the first one in the morning at 9 o'clock. She always allowed us to bring breakfast to class and wait at least 5 minutes before marking us late. I was lucky to be her student, those years studying in the Academy is still the best time in my life, Pat was definitely one of those whom made it so special.

I worked with Pat for long hours overnight in editing video clips for stage performance. I worked with she on curriculum plan for APA TV course. I learnt a lot in my career at APA as I was very fresh in teaching and green experience but she supported me to step on. It was part of my wonderful life at APA with her. Now all these become memory and unforgettable in my life. It is so sad for her leaving and hope she would take a good rest somewhere and she will be deep in my heard always.

I had the enormous pleasure and privilege of working with Pat during her period at the HKAPA while I was Senior Lecturer of Theatre Lighting. We spent many hours discussing all manner of topics, usually over several glasses of Scotch, and her guidance and advice were invaluable. She cared for her students and faculty like a mother cares for her children. A wonderful lady, great friend and admired colleague. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
