Nathalee Hurst Wilson
Nathalee was born July 20, 1920 in Springfield, MO to Joe Earl and Esther Merrick Hurst. She had one brother, Joe Allison Hurst.
She attended several schools including Lawrenceburg, Halltown, Greenfield, Springfield and her senior year at Ash Grove, where she met William Marvin Wilson. They were married March 14, 1939, in Lamar, MO and lived on a farm in the Ash Grove area all of their married life.
Nathalee enjoyed all family activities and being a homemaker. She was devoted to her family and took pleasure in raising and tending to their needs. She was a gifted cook and talented seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for herself and her family.
She had a love for music and played the piano and organ at the United Methodist and Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, where she was a long time member. When physically able, she attended church almost every Sunday. In addition to the piano and organ, she played the cello in high school.
Nathalee moved to Springfield in 1998 after Marvin passed away and kept her ties to friends and family in Ash Grove.
She played bridge and enjoyed new restaurants, shopping, and was interested in politics and current events. She listened to most types of music with Southern Gospel being a favorite. Conversations with her were straight forward so you knew where she stood on most subjects.
Nathalee is survived by:
Three children: Janice Runyan (Tom), Nevada, MO; Ann Clarke (Kevin), Las Vegas, NV; John Wilson (Gaye), Parkville, MO.
Nine Grandchildren: Lee Ann Blessent (Don); Phillip Runyan; Jay Clarke (Jami); Evan Clarke; Todd Clarke (Yukako); Laura Hance (Aaron); Travis Metzger (Karissa); Tony Metzger (Erin); Treton Metzger.
