Stanley Dee "Stan" Hale
Mr. Stanley Dee Hale, age 67, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri after a 10 month battle with cancer. He was born September 8, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Gerald and Dolores (Davis) Hale.
Stan was united in marriage to Brenda Maples on May 31, 1968. They lived and raised their two boys in Clever, the community he loved. He was active in the community, serving as city councilman, and mayor. He coached several little league teams, including the Boys Club basketball team, as well as being the clock keeper for the Clever High School boys basketball program for 50 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Stan and Brenda were in attendance of the 2011 World Series during the seventh game when the Cardinals won the World Series.
Stan began training, to become a welder repairman, with Ozark Welding Company and later began his own company Equipment Service and Repair. He was a member of the Clever First Baptist Church.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Hale, father-in-law, Elmer Maples; and brother-in-law, Donnie Maples. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; two sons, Dirk Hale and wife Amy, and Ryan Hale; two granddaughters, Kaili and Alexis Hale; a great grandchild, Micah Malone; a brother, Larry Hale and wife Darlene; a sister, Jeanne Jones; two aunts, Reba Hale and Joann McGehee; his mother-in-law, Betty Maples; sisters-in-law, Betty Hale, Carol Rhoads and Sherri Stine; brother-in-law, Danny Maples; five step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and Stan's dog, Sugar; other relatives and many friends.
There will be a visitation 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in Meadors Funeral Home, 304 E. Drive St., Clever, MO. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in the Clever First Baptist Church, 105 Kennedy Ave., Clever, MO. Burial will follow in Smart Cemetery, between Clever and Billings.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Smart Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
