Richard "Richie" and I were classmates from 3rd grade at Prairie School in Prairie Village, Kansas and through Shawnee Mission High School graduation in Merriam, Kansas. During this time, we lived back to back in Prairie Village. He was a good friend and we participated in each other's wedding. He got me my first job where we sold men's clothing. He was a person whom almost everyone liked from the first meeting. He is being missed. Peace to his and to Leanna and their families.

This makes me so sad. He was such a kind person. I was so young when he became my Dr. and I missed him after he retired. I have thought of him often since he retired. I was so blessed to have him in my life.

I was looking at my birth certificate tonight from 1977 & noticed the name of the doctor who delivered me at St. Johns in Springfield. Dr. McLaughlin was the presiding doctor at my birth at 4:55a on October 8, 1977. On a whim, I decided to Google his name and found this obituary. My condolences to Dr. McLaughlin's family. But I wanted to let you know something that's kind of neat. My Aunt Nancy passed away this January at the same home, Ozark Riverview Manor. For the last 4-5 years, I visited her there on every visit back to Missouri. I don't know how long Dr. McLaughlin was there, but I'd say there's a pretty good chance that I've walked by the room of the man who delivered me into this world-- and I think that's pretty neat!
