My condolences to the Schaible family upon the loss of your beloved family member.
As a 27+ year employee of Burrell Behavioral Health, I had the privilege of knowing Dr. Schaible. I can say with confidence, Dr. Schaible's first concern was always our consumers. He was also a most eloquent speaker, with a wit and humor that I enjoyed greatly.
BBH will be a most different place without Dr. Schaible's presence. I cannot express how much he is already missed. I feel certain that we employees of BBH will continue to the best of our abilities in carrying out the good works Dr. Schaible implemented. He was indeed a man of visionary leadership.
I will continue to remember the Schaible family in my morning prayers.
Respectfully,
Susan Compton

It was my honor to have known and worked for Dr. Schaible at Burrell Center back in the 1980's. Though I left Springfield nearly 30 years ago, from time to time I would stop at Burrell when I was back in town and Todd always took time out of his busy day to meet with me and provide advice but only if I asked for it. He was a great leader and mentor but his enduring legacy is in his vision of what should be and his unending dedication to help those who struggle with behavioral health problems.
