Robbie, M J & Family, I know that your Grandmother Hemelgarn, and your grandfather, were a big part of your life - and I am so sorry for your loss. M J - your remembrance was a wonderful tribute to someone who was obviously a dear family member and influence on you, Robbie, and your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

One of my early memories of Rebecca is when my twin sister and I were in first grade and learning to read. She was our half-sister and a generation older than us with a daughter, Sandra, the same age as us. She made a big deal over my simple reading "See Dick run. See Jane jump." She was always caring and encouraging. When we were in 2nd grade she gave Marie and I brown plaid dresses with yellow duck buttons. We had our school pictures taken in them. Funny how you remember things like that more than 60 years ago. I will gratefully remember Rebecca as a kind, sweet, generous spirit. I think of 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 when I think of her and other loved ones who have gone Home before us. Until we meet again, sweet sister in Christ, I look forward to rejoicing with you and our loved ones at the feet of our Savior and Lord.

Nana...I am going to miss you like crazy! You have made such an impact in my life in so many ways. You were the first person to ever commit to pray for me and then bow your head and pray right then and there...you touched me in so many ways. The times we would chat on the phone and you always had profound wisdom to enlighten me. The one time you called me and I was so stressed because Seth, at the age of 2, had woke from his nap, ventured into house paint and painted his cherry wood bedroom furniture and comforter. You expressed pride and told me it was a sign of intelligence. It completely shut my pitty party down....I was excited to be raising a genius! The times you took me second hand shopping and taught me how to spot the treasures! The recipes you would talk me through on the phone....always delicious ! The times you would pull an all night shopping spree on QVC and you ordered everything in twos...one for you and one for me...we had the coolest kitchen gadgets! The time you made me carry a knitted blanket on the airplane to Cancun because you were afraid I would be chilled! One of my favorite recent memories is when we would talk on the phone and I would say "Do you need anything?" And you would respond "Just your love!" You have taught me so much Nana and you always have my love!
